Nellie has three aims, to:
Nellie works across two brands, Nellie Supports The Community and Nellie Supports Business.
Nellie Supports the Community
We help individuals and families who struggle to access adult social care support from their Local Authority due to being above the financial threshold of £23,250 outlined in the Care Act (2014); (this can be savings, assets or income).
Nellie helps and supports by providing efficient, ethically-priced adult social care assessment and brokerage services that are comparable to Local Authority charges.
Nellie aims to work with other local businesses and third sector bodies to create local social events to reduce social isolation and improve social engagement, whilst promoting the local community and wellbeing.
Nellie will continue to be innovative by assessing both individuals’ and communities’ needs to ensure it meets these ever-changing social needs.
Nellie Supports Business
Mental Health and employees’ wellbeing are important to you, your employees, your company’s productivity and your profit margin; employers have always had a responsibility for their emplyees’ mental health and wellbeing, although in recent months this responsibility has been highlighted by media and government.
Nellie aims to improve the mental wellbeing of employees, by providing advice, support and services to meet the specific standards outlined in the ‘Thriving at work’ report.
“Since 2001 new Social Workers have been required to be trained to degree level with an emphasis on critical thinking and analysis. Social Work education is generic covering the entire life cycle from birth to palliative care. As a Social Worker and a business owner I want to make a difference and give people a choice.” Ben Slater.
If your company is considering embracing the responsibility for your employees’ wellbeing then speak to Nellie. Join the herd.
So how can Social Work and Business work together for mutual benefit?
“Social workers are trained to be critically reflective decision makers and assessors-of-need. They are also trained to have knowledge of mental health and are experts in mental capacity. We have an understanding and working knowledge of counselling theories, communications theory and skills, mediation, legislation and sociology theories such as Systems Theory, to name just a few of the skills and knowledge a Social Worker has.
“Social Work co-operation with business allows for business to access knowledge and skills to create both a preventative and a reactionary service within their business.” Ben Slater.
