Psychometric findings support the decision-specific assessment; they do not determine capacity on their own. Reports are prepared to CPR Part 35 requirements where applicable to the instruction.
Additional evidence with a separately agreed scope
Standard remains our primary service for most capacity assessments. This evaluation is an additional option where tailored cognitive and psychological information would help support the MCA or MCAs requested.

Before the capacity assessment
Agree the assessments and scope
Tell us which MCA or MCAs are required and the referral concerns. The scope of the evaluation is agreed so that it appropriately supports those assessments.
Arrange the evaluation
The evaluation is usually remote, with an in-person appointment available where this better suits the client. Any applicable travel costs are quoted separately.
Complete the evaluation first
The evaluation takes place before the MCA, on a separate day. Its findings provide additional information for the separately quoted decision-specific assessment or assessments.
What to include in your enquiry
Begin with the decisions that need assessing and the reason additional testing is being considered. Please tell us:
- The decision or decisions for which MCAs are required.
- The cognitive or psychological questions behind the referral.
- The individual’s needs relevant to the proposed evaluation.
- Whether remote or in-person arrangements would better suit the client.
- Any relevant deadline or appointment needs.
Evaluation fee, plus the separately quoted MCA or MCAs
The displayed fee covers the psychometric evaluation only. It is in addition to the separately quoted MCA or MCAs. Any applicable travel costs are quoted separately.

Does the evaluation include an MCA?
The fee is for the psychometric evaluation only. The MCA or MCAs are separately quoted, and the evaluation does not determine capacity on its own.
Can the evaluation support more than one MCA?
