Why we publish
Nellie Supports publishes service pages, guides and educational content to help families, solicitors, deputies, attorneys and professionals understand mental capacity assessment, NHS Continuing Healthcare, social care and related processes. Our aim is that every page is accurate, current, plainly written and honest about what we do and do not provide.
Who writes and reviews our content
Content is prepared by the Nellie Supports team, drawing on the practice's assessment experience across England and Wales, and is reviewed before publication under the oversight of the practice leadership. Pages carry the boundary statement that Nellie Supports provides independent social work assessment, evidence and advocacy support and does not provide regulated legal advice.
Our sources
Content explaining legal and procedural frameworks is grounded in primary sources and recognised professional guidance, including the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and its Code of Practice, Court of Protection forms and guidance, the Care Act 2014, the NHS Continuing Healthcare National Framework, SEND legislation and statutory guidance, and guidance published by bodies such as the Law Society and 39 Essex Chambers. Where we describe official processes, we aim to reflect the current published position and link to authoritative sources where helpful.
How we handle claims
Factual claims about our practice, including team model, coverage, volumes, prices and turnaround standards, are held to internal evidence before publication and are worded cautiously. Where a claim cannot be evidenced, it is not published. Prices and fees shown on service pages are the prices we charge, with VAT and travel treatment stated alongside them.
Style and accessibility
We write in UK English and plain English. Family-facing content is written to be calm, human and practical; solicitor-facing content is written to be structured, precise and evidence-led. We aim to meet recognised accessibility standards across the site.
Use of AI-assisted tools
We may use approved AI-assisted tools to support drafting, formatting, consistency and quality control of published content. All published content is subject to human review, and AI tools are not used to make professional judgements. Further detail is set out in our privacy policy.
